This product is most definitely a 5 star item! We are gardeners on a small scale, and have a 4X4ft. raised garden bed for growing tomatoes, peppers, snow peas, and a variety of other veggies. This past summer the birds attacked our beautiful, ripe tomatoes...drat! We had used a plastic netting doubled over, because the openings were about 1" wide, but the tiny birds had no problem getting in or out. Time to take drastic measures! We ordered the De Witt 14X14 ft. Deluxe Bird Barricade netting, approx. 1/4" openings, to cover our fall/winter garden here in Arizona. The netting is fantastic! The knitted polyethylene is soft and pliable, and very easy to work with, and it is treated with UV inhibitors to protect it from the sun's rays, and should last for more than one season. We will be testing it more during next spring/summer. We cut it, with scissors, to accommodate the size of the garden box and the tall trellises at each end, and still have netting for a lone cherry tomato in a separate pot, plus more for whatever might need covering. We really don't mind the birds in the yard, just don't want them eating our tomatoes! Happy Gardening!
